Care for the Poor

Care for the Poor is central to the identity of Saint Thomas Health.

"...we acknowledge that God is served in a special way in the person of those who are poor in body, mind and spirit.  We make a preferential commitment to those who are poor, vulnerable and marginalized in our society."

The following services reach out to the poor and underserved in our communities.

Medical Missions at Home

these day-long community health events provide needed primary and specialty care and services to communities throughout Middle Tennessee. Read more about Medical Missions at Home.

Family Health Clinics

The mission of Saint Thomas Health's network of family health centers is to serve the community by providing health care to all ages regardless of insurance or financial resources. The centers are staffed by licensed medical professionals. For those who do not have insurance, fees are based on a sliding scale using federal poverty guidelines. In addition, private insurance, Medicare and TennCare are accepted.
